Monday Nov 26, 2018
In todays episode Jake is joined by Dr. Demian Woyciehowsky who is a dentist doctor. They discuss on how oral health touches every aspect of our lives but is often taken for granted.
So what does oral health have to do with mental health? Well poor or neglected oral health can damage feelings of personal value and self-confidence, which is harmful to mental health. Since we are here to provide you with tips to all round wellbeing, oral health plays a big part in that. There is a close connection between the health of the body and that of the mind.
Oral health is a key indicator of overall health, wellbeing and quality of life. WHO defines oral health as “a state of being free from chronic mouth and facial pain, oral and throat cancer, oral infection and sores, periodontal (gum) disease, tooth decay, tooth loss, and other diseases and disorders that limit an individual’s capacity in biting, chewing, smiling, speaking, and psychosocial wellbeing.
